Sensoa

Sensoa is the Flemish organization that provides information on all aspects of sexuality. Sensoa's latest website seksualiteit.be informs of sexual health and also provides useful information to parents. Sensoa aims to inform on topics such as Aids, prejudice and sexual harassment. They do so by interlinking individually themed websites. Sensoa also provides practical guidelines on sex education for parents.

This thematic information was removed from the original corporate website. The corporate Sensoa.be website has become much leaner. Thanks to its multiwebsite environment, Sensoa can now use content blocks to reach various target audiences. Seksualiteit.be is the first of other websites that are to follow in 2012 and 2013.

Project highlights

The individual websites are relatively straightforward. The Drupal 7 multiwebsite setup, however, presented some challenges regarding content migration, content push-and-pull and theming. As Sensoa accumulated hundreds of articles rich in information, content migration was essential early on in the process. A workflow based Content Staging environment was set up, allowing Sensoa to migrate and create content in the early stages of the project. A separate documentation server was installed allowing Sensoa to distribute content over various editors and also to add how-to's of their own.

The Seksualiteit.be website serves as a blueprint for future websites targetted to specific groups such as Aids patients, homosexuals and young adults. These sites are planned for 2012 and 2013. This 'profile' is actively maintained while functionalities evolve and the source code progresses during maintenance patches. By using this up-to-date profile, Sensoa can inform a new audience online in a very short time.
