Steve De Jonghe
Software Developer
Ever since his first dial-in connection on a 33.4k modem, Steve has been drawn towards the inner workings of websites, using "view source" on every Geocities website out there, and trying to replicate it from scratch. Steve went from studying bakery to trades and later on Interactive Multimedia Design. During these studies, he taught himself some basic PHP and made a tiny little CMS (which is still being used today, almost 10 years later!).
When working for a small communications agency Steve was introduced to Drupal, it was love at first sight! Just a few months later he was attending Drupalcon and started frequenting Drupal Core development sprints, where he was often the youngest person present. Steve is on IRC providing support for Drupal, jQuery and HTML5. He is also known for creating demos of unconventional CSS techniques, bleeding-edge new features and optimizing Drupal Modules in his spare time. When there is time left, Steve is always up for a party and gets his R&R from computer games.
Steve's goal in life is to make the web a happier place, where standards are respected and kittens are left to live long and prosper [inside Drupal Joke; Ed.].
